Small Businesses: With over 97% of Marylanders working for a small business, the state must continue to foster local job growth to keep small businesses in our communities. Clarence favors tax credits to businesses that hire local workers who have been unemployed and favors incentives for innovative industries, like biotechnology, in order to bring more jobs into the state.

Close tax loopholes: Clarence supports provisions that prevent multi-state businesses from shifting their income out of Maryland in order to avoid state taxes.

Fiscal responsibility: Clarence supports reducing wasteful spending by increasing the frequency of state agency audits and by eliminating outdated tax credits.
