Issues: Government Budget and Spending
As Utahns, we are fortunate that we understand how to live within our means. The recent economic downturn has been very hard on many but we have balanced our budget while at the same time tucking money away in the rainy day fund. We will never spend more than we have in Utah. Our bonding capacity has almost maxed out and I fully supported efforts this past legislative session to pay down bonds so that Utah will retain its Triple A bond rating. Wisely allocating taxpayer funds is a sacred trust I take very seriously.
