Heitkamp Statement on Memorial Day

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp released the following statement ahead of Memorial Day:

"For generations, North Dakotans have consistently answered the call and stepped up to defend our country. Without their selfless actions and devotion, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the safety and freedom that our nation far too often takes for granted. We must make sure we're doing all we can to not only honor our nation's fallen, but also support our veterans and all military families. Often unseen in the public eye, these families also make incredible sacrifices that cannot be overlooked. On this Memorial Day -- and every day -- let us stand together underneath one flag and remember those who bravely made the ultimate sacrifice for our state and country. Thank you to all of our veterans and current servicemembers, as well as their families, for all they have done and will continue to do to help keep America prosperous and free and protect us all."
