Cpl. Ross Post Office Bill Signed by President, Becomes Law

Press Release

Date: June 9, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Reid Ribble made the following statement after President Barack Obama signed H.R. 1228, the Corporal Justin D. Ross Post Office Bill, into law:

"I'm pleased that the President has signed the Corporal Justin D. Ross Post Office bill honoring all those service members from Wisconsin's 8th District who have laid down their lives in defense of liberty. Freedom always comes at a cost and many have paid the highest price. These soldiers' service and sacrifice is worthy of far more than any legislation can offer, but taking this moment and this step is one more way for a grateful nation to honor these heroes."

Congressman Ribble introduced this legislation in March 2013. The House passed it on March 26th of this year and the Senate did the same three weeks ago.

Corporal Ross, Sergeant Paul Atim, Staff Sergeant Matthew Hermanson, Staff Sergeant Garrick Eppinger Jr., and Staff Sergeant Jordan Bear have all been killed in combat since Congressman Ribble took office in January 2011.
