House Armed Services Subcommittee Approves Continued LCS Contruction

Congressman Reid Ribble commented on the House Armed Services Committee decision to authorize the construction of four new Littoral Combat Ships in this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) legislation. The bill would authorize full funding for two ships and Advance Procurement funding for two additional ships.

"I am encouraged that the Committee's proposed legislation will allow the Navy to build four new ships. While I'm pleased that we've been able to fully fund two vessels and partially fund another two, I will continue to work in the weeks ahead to fight for the LCS program and work to hold the government accountable for the promises it has made to the people of Marinette. Marinette Marine and its workforce have done an exceptional job building these vessels and the government needs to stand by its commitment.
