Peter recognizes that the Chesapeake Bay is Maryland's most indispensable natural and economic resource and he has been a steadfast champion for protecting our precious open spaces. Peter will continue working to protect and strengthen our environment to keep our quality of life high and our economy strong. He supports increased investments in alternative energy sources like geothermal heating and cooling, as well as solar and wind energy, and he wants to make Maryland a national leader in developing these new technologies to create local, family-supporting jobs. He's also leading by example in the Comptroller's Office by going paperless for tax refunds and eliminating the printing of unnecessary and outdated materials --saving the State a lot of trees and money.
