Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee released the following statement regarding the recent devastating tornadoes in Iowa, Arkansas, Mississippi and other parts of the South:

"I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives because of the tornadoes that have swept through the states of Iowa, Arkansas, Misssissippi and other parts of the South the last few days. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by this devastation, and I commend the heroic efforts of those First Responders who have been working tirelessly to respond to this disaster.

"I am positive that the Federal Government will move quickly in our response. While we may not know the extent of the damage for days, I am positive that we will continue to monitor these severe storms as they go across the country and the Federal Government will stand ready to continue to help the people of the states affected and all citizens affected by these storms."
