Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today voted in support of H.R. 4435, the FY 2015 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the mechanism to provide necessary authorities and funding for America's military. The House approved the legislation by a vote of 325-98.

"This is the fifty-third consecutive NDAA and meets our goal of providing for a strong defense in an era of uncertain and declining resources," said Davis. "While no bill is perfect, I'm pleased with a number of provisions included in this year's NDAA, including an increase in troop pay, a rejection of the Administration's proposal to increase TRICARE fees, language to combat sexual assault, preventing DOD from closing Commissary stores, and prohibiting another round of BRAC.

"Additionally, I'm encouraged that a number of my colleagues, both Republicans and Democrats, came together to ensure that the Navy had the authorization to purchase additional F-18G Growlers, which are critical to thousands of manufacturing jobs in St. Louis and the Metro East."
