Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07) released the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's new carbon dioxide emission regulation, which takes aim at more than 600 coal-fired power plants across the nation:

"Once again the President has acted through executive fiat to implement his cap-and-trade agenda," said Congressman Tom Rice (R-SC). "This attempt to boost his second-term legacy will eliminate American jobs and drive up energy costs nationwide. Once implemented, South Carolinians will see sizable increases in their electricity bills. It is imperative that Congress considers my Stop This Overreaching Presidency (STOP) Resolution so we can stop this Administration's continued power grabs."
