Alaska Delegation Gives Last Frontier Honor Flight Warm DC Welcome

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

In the shadow of the United States Capitol, Alaska's Congressional Delegation today personally greeted the Last Frontier Honor Flight, comprised of over 40 Alaska veterans of World War II, the Korean Conflict and other foreign engagements of the 20th Century. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich, along with Congressman Don Young, gave the veterans, volunteers, friends and family a warm welcome to the Nation's Capital as the group visited Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials erected to honor them.

In a spontaneous commemoration of the men and the women who served, a group of visiting tourists gave the Alaska veterans a heartfelt and extended round of applause, taking pictures of the special occasion and showering the Last Frontier Honor Flight with respect and appreciation.

Today's visit marks the second such Last Frontier Honor Flight, with the inaugural group having come to Washington, D.C. and visited the World War II Memorial last October.
