Gardner Commends Decision to Further Investigate Benghazi Attacks

Statement

Date: May 2, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Cory Gardner (CO-04) released the following statement in response to an announcement from House Speaker John Boehner to appoint a select committee to investigate the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks:

"I commend Speaker Boehner for his decision to appoint a select committee to investigate the Benghazi terrorist attacks that took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

"The White House's inability to answer basic questions and provide accurate information about what happened that night is why I have cosponsored H.R. 36, which calls for a select committee. I appreciate Speaker Boehner's willingness to heed the American people's call for a select committee. They deserve answers to the many questions still surrounding the Benghazi attacks."
