Governor Announces Plans for Public Conversations On Medicaid Reform in Littleton and Nashua

Gov. John Lynch announced today that his office will host two additional public conversations on Medicaid Reform in Littleton on Monday, February 7th and in Nashua on Friday, February 11th.

" We can and should improve Medicaid for the people we serve and our taxpayers. But I am committed to make sure we approach any Medicaid reforms thoughtfully and with full public involvement, " Gov. Lynch said. " These public conversations are an opportunity for the people who provide and receive care to offer their best ideas about how to improve Medicaid. "

Gov. Lynch is asking participants to bring to the sessions their own ideas and proposals for how to improve Medicaid. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has been invited to attend and present its proposal for Medicaid reform.

The discussions will be led by Ned Helms, director of the University of New Hampshire ' s Institute for Health Policy, on behalf of Gov. Lynch. Gov. Lynch previously held a public conversation on Medicaid reform in Concord on Jan. 24th.

Following the Nashua public conversation, Gov. Lynch plans a series of working sessions between his office, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the state's community partners to decide which ideas are worth pursuing further, and to develop pilot projects and initiatives.
