Roskam Demands Increased Data Sharing to Fight Medicare and Medicaid Fraud

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

Today, Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R-IL) demanded answers from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services about the agency's goals for Medi-Medi, the Medicare and Medicaid Data Match Program that seeks to share information about fraudulent providers between state-run Medicaid and federally-run Medicare. Currently only 10 states participate, leaving the door open for criminals who have defrauded one entity to continue fleecing the other.

Roskam introduced the bipartisan, bicameral PRIME Act which demands that the Health and Human Services Secretary develop a plan to incentivize states to participate in Medi-Medi, along with other common sense reforms to combat Medicare fraud and abuse.
