Today, Dr. Benishek (MI-01) released the following statement on the allegations of delays in care at the Phoenix VAMC:

"These reports are sickening and merely the latest in a long string of allegations of bureaucratic incompetence at the Department of Veterans Affairs. This has to end. As a former VA surgeon and as the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee Subcommittee on Health, I am committed to holding those responsible accountable for their actions and putting into place mechanisms that will prevent this travesty from occurring again."
