Hoyer Statement on Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today marking Asian Pacific American Heritage Month:

"Throughout May, we honor the contributions by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to our history, economy, culture, government, and society. Our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities add to the strength and diversity of our country, and the many Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who serve in our Armed Forces at home and overseas do so with the gratitude of the nation they defend. I am proud to join in celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and it continues to be a privilege to serve alongside so many outstanding colleagues in the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, with whom I have worked for years to advance the goals of working to end discrimination, reduce inequality, and expand economic opportunity for all Americans."
