Issue Position

Families in Illinois must live within their means, unfortunately the government does not follow this common sense practice. The current administration has increased the national debt by over 50%. Each American now owes over $54,000 just to pay off the current federal debt!

In Illinois, I have supported an amendment to the constitution that requires the General Assembly to pass a balanced budget, failure to do so would suspend lawmaker's pay. I believe we should do the same in Congress. We need to rein in spending, lower the country's debt and stop mortgaging our children and grandchildren's future.
