I stand with the majority of Idahoans who believe that Idaho's position near the bottom of many social and economic measures is unacceptable. Idahoans deserve better. One in 4 Idahoans is on food stamps. We have more minimum wage jobs per capita than any other state. Some counties have an unemployment rate as high as 14%. While governor Otter says "that's unfortunate" and is comfortable with the status quo, I use these statistics for motivation to lead us into a brighter future by replacing the job-killing Obamacare, getting government out of the way so business can grow, installing an education system that prepares and encourages our kids for a life in the ever advancing high-tech world, and responsibly managing our natural resources right here in Idaho. I spent my career as a businessman traveling the world promoting Idaho's economy. As your governor, I want to empower Idahoans to advance our economy. We can be the sparkling gem of the nation.
