Rep. Messer Votes to Protect American Workers and Their Paychecks from Obamacare

Statement

Date: April 3, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Luke Messer voted for the Save American Workers Act (SAW). This Act repeals the 30-hour definition of "full-time employment" in the Affordable Care Act and restores the traditional 40-hour definition.

"The Obamacare employer mandate is the biggest assault on the 40 hour work week this nation has ever seen," said Congressman Luke Messer. "At a time when people are already struggling to make ends meet, too many Hoosiers are seeing their paychecks shrink and their work hours cut because of the President's health care law. I'm proud to support the SAW Act and will continue to promote policies that protect Americans from the Affordable Care Act."

The SAW Act passed with bipartisan support in the House 248-179.
