House Passes Plan to Keep Refineries Strong

Location: Juneau, AK

Following passage of House Bill 287, Governor Sean Parnell today commended the House for its passage of his tax incentives package aimed at keeping Alaska's in-state refineries strong. HB 287 also extends the state's contract to sell its royalty oil to Tesoro Refining and Marketing, LLC.

"Alaska's refineries help drive our economy, and I commend the House for passing HB 287 to ensure they stay strong," Governor Parnell said. "Whether it's jobs for Alaskans, economic opportunities, or refining Alaska's fuels for Alaskans' use, our refiners play a key role in our state's economy. I want to thank Representatives Tammie Wilson and Steve Thompson for carrying our bill through the House, and look forward to working with the Senate in the coming days."

House Bill 287 now moves to the Senate.
