Lance Statement on Final 2015 Medicare Advantage Rates

Press Release

Date: April 7, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

House Energy and Commerce Committee member Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today issued the following statement regarding the Administration's final payment rates for 2015 Medicare Advantage plans.

"The President's health care law compromised the financial security of thousands of our Nation's senior citizens. Because 80 percent of the law's cuts are still scheduled to go into effect, we have yet to realize the full effect of Obamacare's raid of Medicare Advantage. Senior citizens deserve better. They deserve the peace of mind knowing that their doctor and their benefits under Medicare Advantage are protected and preserved. That's why I will continue to work tireless to end Obamacare's attack on Medicare Advantage."

The administration announced in February that it would impose additional cuts to Medicare Advantage plans next year. Energy and Commerce Committee members have warned about the harmful effects these cuts and the policies already enacted in the President's health care law have on the quality of care for senior citizens and have introduced several bills that would help keep the promise of Medicare.
