House Votes to Protect Seniors' Access to Medicare

Statement

Date: March 27, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] released the following statement after voting for H.R. 4302, the Protecting Access to Medicare Act:

"The House took action two weeks ago to permanently repeal the flawed Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) to provide certainty and stability to seniors and their doctors," said Rothfus. "Unfortunately, this much-needed reform is sitting on Senator Reid's desk like dozens of other pieces of legislation. While another short-term fix is not ideal, the legislation passed today will protect seniors' access to care by preventing harmful SGR cuts from going into effect."
