Courtney: Ukraine Bills will Support Democracy

Today, Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) released the following statement after the House approved two bills authorizing U.S. support for Ukraine's reform government:
"These bipartisan bills passed today will provide much-needed support to Ukraine's reform government, which is committed to building a strong democratic tradition for the people of that country. I am pleased that the legislation approved tonight addresses many of the concerns raised by Connecticut's Ukrainian-American community during our discussion in Willimantic. I remain committed to U.S. efforts to support Ukraine's fledgling democracy and ensuring that the will of the Ukrainian people is protected in the weeks and months ahead."
