Congresswoman Hahn Recognizes Cesar Chavez Day

Statement

Congresswoman Janice Hahn (CA-44) released the following statement today in honor of Cesar Chavez Day:

"Today, we take this opportunity to honor the life and lasting accomplishments of Cesar Chavez in his life-long fight for fair treatment for the immigrant farm workers of California that ignited a national movement for equality. As we celebrate the progress made through the campaign of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, we must recognize that the struggle for justice is still not complete. Every day, workers in this country continue to suffer from exploitation and unjustifiable treatment. Millions of Americans working full-time jobs on minimum wage are raising their families in poverty. This is unacceptable. It is time to finish what Chavez and Huerta started, and fight for fair treatment of workers and an economy that works for everyone. Today, we honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez by recommitting ourselves to "La Causa" and the fight for fair wages and safe working conditions for every hard-working man and woman in this nation."
