Washington, DC -- March 31, 2014 -- Today, Representative Bradley Byrne (AL-1) announced he has cosponsored the Jumpstarting Opportunities with Bold Solutions (JOBS) Act. The bill, introduced by Republican Study Committee Chairman Steve Scalise (LA-1), takes targeted action in the areas of labor, regulatory relief for businesses, energy, and access to capital that will jumpstart the economy and help create jobs.

Byrne said: "For too long, we have been content to sit back and nibble around the edges of the issues weighing down our economy. The result is a stagnant recovery where unemployment is still far too high, new investment and jobs are leaving the country, and many are still struggling to find work. I refuse to accept this version of America as "the new normal.'

"It's time for bold action. What the country needs now more than ever are leaders that are willing to plant the flag for bold ideas that will move our country forward and put Americans back to work. The JOBS Act is a common-sense measure that approves the Keystone XL pipeline, ends the Administration's "War on Coal,' provides regulatory relief to business, and improves access to capital. These are common-sense proposals, many with bipartisan support, and I look forward to working with Chairman Scalise to move these ideas forward."
