Congressman John F. Tierney today released the following statement upon President Obama's signing of the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act (H.R. 3370):
"For too long, many Massachusetts homeowners and small businesses have wrestled with uncertainty and confusion over significant cost increases in flood insurance premiums. The Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, which was signed into law today, takes the important first step of providing clarity and relief to those who have been subject to unfair and unwarranted premium increases. I will continue to work to ensure its proper and timely implementation so small businesses and local homeowners can begin to have the burden lifted." said Congressman John Tierney.
