Terry Cites Fairness in Voting to Suspend the Individual Mandate Tax from Obamacare

Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE) today made the following statement on after a bipartisan vote to suspend Obamacare's individual mandate tax:

"The American people don't have confidence in the President's health care plan and you really can't blame them. They've been left confused and wondering why they should be taxed for not buying a policy they either didn't want or have been unable to log-on and purchase

"With all these delays, one has to wonder whether or not even the President has confidence in his health care plan.

"The President has delayed the Obamacare mandate for big businesses and the simplest and fairest thing to do would be to suspend the individual mandate for hard-working Americans. That is exactly what Republicans and Democrats came together today and did. It was a bipartisan vote for fairness."
