Issue Position: Seniors

Issue Position

Our seniors, who have cut a path for all of us to walk behind, must have dignity and peace of mind during their golden years. America's commitment to our seniors has not wavered--and our country is better off for it.

Social Security is a compact between the government and the Americans who have spent their entire lives working, and it is one the government must honor. This important program is the largest source of income for the majority of our seniors--lifting 13 million elderly Americans out of poverty.

Keith supports a responsible approach to ensure Social Security's long-term stability. He strongly opposes any efforts to privatize this critical program.

Keith proudly supported the Affordable Care Act, which will strengthen Medicare for years to come. The historic legislation provides free preventative care; free annual wellness visits; cuts waste, fraud, and abuse; and closes the "donut hole' that saddled seniors with expensive prescription drug costs.
