Sinema Urges Gov. Brewer to Veto Commerce Discrimination Bill

Statement

Today Congresswoman Sinema released the following statement after the Arizona State Legislature passed SB 1062 and HB 2153. The bill will now be sent to Governor Brewer for her signature.

"Today the Arizona House of Representatives debates a commerce discrimination bill which is bad for Arizona's economy and will hurt business in the state. Governor Brewer must consider the negative consequences Arizona will face should she sign it. The economic hit to our state, if this misguided bill is signed into law, will undoubtedly harm thousands of hardworking Arizonans, and is irresponsible at a time when we are just starting to recover from the economic downturn. Arizona is better than this. I call on Governor Brewer to show leadership and veto the bill if it is sent to her."
