Issues: Energy

Develop an energy policy that opens doors for energy independence and puts people back to work.

As a nation, we must strive for energy independence in order to restore economic prosperity and ensure national security. We must eliminate the regulatory red tape that handcuffs our energy production and allow states more control of their own resources along with fast-track drilling permits. We need an "all-of-the-above" energy approach to develop traditional and emerging energy sources. This will not only help to create jobs, but will also lower prices at the pump. Unfortunately, the President favors taxpayer-funded disasters, like Solyndra, over privately-funded projects like the Leystone XL Pipeline. The government should not pick the winners and losers.

We are blessed to live in a country that has an abundance of natural resources. Today, we have an opportunity to decrease our nation's dependence on foriegn oil, lower the cost of energy and create jobs by exploring an untapped market of natural resources.
