Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), a member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement in support H.R. 1869, the Biennial Budgeting and Enhanced Oversight Act, and H.R. 1872, the Budget and Accounting Transparency Act, two bills that were approved by the Budget Committee today in an effort to reform the Congressional Budget process.

"Since coming to Congress I have been leading the fight in Washington to reduce the out-of-control spending and ensure we are doing everything possible to ensure tax payer dollars are protected from waste, fraud, and abuse. As a member of the Budget Committee, I have worked in support of efforts like the legislation we approved today that will bring accountability to the budget process and hold federal bureaucrats responsible for every dollar spent. If we are going to get our economy moving again, it is imperative that we get our fiscal house in order."
