Issue Position

America can recover. For the sake of those who have sacrificed before us, and those who will come after us, we must recover. I believe our Nebraska way can be America's way. At home, we balance our budgets. We don't spend more than we have. We have to make hard decisions about the proper level of government services and balance that with reasonable fees and taxation. And we work in a bipartisan and collaborative way to get the job done.

That's the way that Washington needs to operate. It's going to take bold leadership, real resolve and cross-town cooperation from the next President and the next Congress to get our house in order. But with the engagement and encouragement of good citizens like you, I believe we can break out of timeworn, uncreative political lanes and start down the path of constructive solutions. Then, we all win.
