Governor Scott Walker and Department of Public Instruction Announce New Course Options

Governor Scott Walker released the following statement today following the announcement of Course Options by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI):

Course Options provide Wisconsin students with the flexibility they need to meet and exceed their academic goals. No one model fits each student, and we should offer them the best chance at success.

The new Course Options allow students to take up to two courses from any of the following:

a public school not within their school district;

the University of Wisconsin System;

a technical college;

non-profit institutions of higher learning;

a tribal college;

a charter school; and

a non-profit organization approved by the Department of Public Instruction.
