Rep. Miller: President Should Approve the Keystone XL Pipeline

Statement

Location: Harrison Township, MI

Today, U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) made the following comments in regards to the U.S. State Department's release of the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the Keystone XL pipeline:

"After many years of delays and excuses, the State Department has released the final environmental report confirming that the Keystone XL pipeline is clear for the President's approval. The Keystone pipeline will create tens of thousands of jobs, immediately, at zero cost to taxpayers.

"Our nation's energy security is directly related to our national security -- and the Keystone XL pipeline would allow us to advantage ourselves by obtaining energy from our friends and neighbors, the Canadians, while assisting America in our quest for energy independence. This final study eliminates any excuse for President Obama. Our nation has long awaited this decision and I call on President Obama to use his authority for something that both Republicans and Democrats agree will help America - approve the permitting of the Keystone XL pipeline."
