Representative Owens' Statement Concerning Proposed Study of North Country Transportation Enhancements

Following Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's announcement that he would conduct an in depth feasibility study of the most efficient transportation enhancements for the North Country corridor, Representative Bill Owens made the following statement:

"I am encouraged by Governor Cuomo's decision to study the North Country transportation corridor," Representative Bill Owens said. "This is a commonsense step forward for our region. As we all know, infrastructure including Interstates 81 and 87, the St. Lawrence Seaway and rural broadband are critical to economic growth and job creation. I look forward to working with my constituents and the governor as this study takes shape."

The governor announced his decision yesterday during his annual State of the State address.
