Washington, D.C. -- Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) released the following statement today after President Obama delivered his State of the Union address to a Joint Session of Congress:

"We must make immediate, commonsense investments in our country and our middle class if we want to get folks back to work and our economy back on track -- just like we did in the Clinton Administration. By increasing the minimum wage to $10.10, extending unemployment insurance, boosting manufacturing, and closing tax loopholes for corporations that outsource jobs, we can strengthen and grow the middle class, balance the budget, and expand opportunities for hardworking Americans."

Rep. Maloney, a member of No Labels, sat with his colleague from the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Kristi Noem from South Dakota, to support bipartisan cooperation in Congress.
