Rep. Mark Takano released the following statement after President Obama announced that he would raise the minimum wage for federal contract workers through an Executive Order:

"The President's announcement today that he will raise the minimum wage for federal contract workers is a huge victory for working class Americans. By taking this single action, hundreds of thousands of Americans who work hard every single day, yet still struggle just to get by will finally be able to begin climbing the economic ladder.

"My hope is that this momentum will continue and Congress will pass legislative that will raise the minimum wage for all workers."
