Congresswoman Sinema Statement on Bill Undermining Women's Healthcare

Statement

Date: Jan. 28, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Women Abortion

Today, Congresswoman Sinema voted against H.R. 7, a bill that restricts women's healthcare decisions. This bill would significantly change longstanding health care coverage for women.

"When I ran for Congress, I promised to find common sense, bipartisan solutions to our most pressing issues. Sadly, the bill we voted on today is a misguided piece of legislation that inserts additional restrictions on women's health options and fails to address any of the serious issues facing Arizona families - which is why I voted against it.

"Instead of finding ways to undermine a woman's ability to make personal decisions about her own health care, we should to work together to create jobs, support businesses and middle class families, and get our economy back on track. I look forward to making that happen."
