U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., today issued the following statement regarding U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn's, R-Okla., decision to leave the Senate at the end of the year:
"Tom Coburn and I came to Washington together in 1994, and he has been a good friend and confidante ever since. He has been a steadfast advocate for fiscal responsibility, and the people of Oklahoma should be proud to have been represented by such a unique and straightforward man. Whether he is in Washington or in his beloved Oklahoma, Tom will never stop serving his country. I am thankful to have served with him, and he will be sorely missed in Congress."
