Press Release

Date: Dec. 12, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill today released the following statement after Boeing announced that it will establish a new technology research center in St. Louis, Missouri:

"Seeing companies like Boeing invest and expand their operations in St. Louis is just a further reminder that St. Louis is a growing and vibrant area-and one that employers should rightly see as a great region in which to expand and relocate."

The new research center, which should bring with it 300-400 jobs, will consolidate technology development of strategic importance to Boeing over the long-term - up to 30 years into the future. They will be chartered to accelerate technical capability in specific fields, and enhance and build networks of collaboration with university, industry, and government research centers around the world.

McCaskill and fellow Missouri Senator Roy Blunt recently sent a letter to The Boeing Company, urging them to consider the State of Missouri's proposal for consideration to build the new 777X Airliner in St. Louis.
