DeSantis Statement on Nuclear Deal with Iran

Rep. Ron DeSantis, a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, issued the following statement on the interim nuclear agreement with Iran:

"That this Geneva agreement is being greeted with smiles in Tehran and with trepidation by our allies in the Middle East is proof that no deal would have been better than a bad deal in which Iran will be given desired sanctions relief while still being allowed to enrich uranium. Waving a piece of paper in the air as proof that we have achieved peace in our time may generate some nice - but fleeting - press clippings, but this approach will not mollify the Islamic Republic of Iran; indeed, it will likely embolden that fanatical regime. I urge the U.S. Senate to pass the enhanced Iran sanctions previously passed in the U.S. House as soon as possible."
