To mark the 72nd anniversary of the attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor and to honor the sacrifices of those who were at Pearl Harbor on the infamous day, Governor Maggie Hassan has proclaimed Saturday, December 7, 2013, as "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day" in New Hampshire.
"The horrific attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, forever changed the course of history for our great nation and the world," Governor Hassan said. "On this solemn occasion, we honor the sacrifices of those heroes who lost their lives and those who survived that tragic day. We are eternally grateful for their service and the service of millions more who would go on to fight for our country in the Second World War, defending our shared values of liberty, equality, and freedom."
In honor of the individuals who sacrificed at Pearl Harbor, Governor Hassan has directed flags to half-staff on Saturday, December 7, 2013.
