Boustany Meets with Local Veterans in Lafayette to Discuss Latest on VA Clinic

Statement

Date: Nov. 27, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Veterans

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement tonight after meeting with a coalition group composed of local veterans in Lafayette at the Southside Library:

"Tonight, I was fortunate enough to attend a meeting with a local coalition group composed of veterans to discuss the latest on the VA clinics in South Louisiana. Here in South Louisiana, there continues to be a great need for a full-service clinic, and I wanted to give these brave veterans an update on the latest news from Washington regarding the VA's actions. While we continue making strides toward turning the clinic into a reality, there is much work left to finish. However, the most recent news regarding funding was a step in the right direction and one I was proud to relay back home to the Lafayette coalition group in person. As I stated in the meeting, I'll continue to fight on behalf of South Louisiana's veterans on Capitol Hill to ensure we receive our clinics in Lafayette and Lake Charles."
