Scalise Files Bill To Replace Obamacare

Press Release

Location: Unknown

Calling President Obama's signature health care law unworkable, Congressman Steve Scalise says he's filed a health care bill of his own.

Scalise told Rush Radio's Denny Schaffer Monday, "I filed a bill called the American Health Care Reform Act. We start off by repealing the President's law and putting in place things that actually will lower costs, allowing people to buy across state lines."

Scalise says his bill puts people back in charge of their health care and not the government.

"Go back to some common sense policies that lower costs for families. That's the bill that I filed. We've got over 100 co-sponsors on our bill," the congressman said.

Meanwhile, Scalise says he looks forward to working with a new member of the state's congressional delegation, businessman and political newcomer Vance McAllister, who's been elected to fill the unexpired term of Rodney Alexander in the 5th Congressional District.

Scalise says McAllister, who's never been to Washington, D.C., is scheduled to be sworn in on Wednesday
