Issue Position

One of the greatest blessings in America is the ability for anyone, no matter their economic background or family history, to work hard and succeed. As the first person in my family to attend college, I know firsthand the transformative power of education.

I believe every child in America should have access to a high-quality education in a safe and welcoming environment, regardless of whether their education takes place in a public school, private school, home school or non-traditional setting. As the wife of a school teacher, I know that our education system faces challenges. American students have been testing below their international peers, debt for college students has skyrocketed, and the federal government's resources for education are strained. But I firmly believe America has the ability to produce the best and brightest students, from preschool through graduate school.
