Hastings Shares Story of Yakima Constituent Hurt by Obamacare

Press Release

Date: Nov. 14, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today, in a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, Congressman Doc Hastings (R-Pasco), shared Yakima resident Gary Bailey's story, one of over a thousand e-mails, letters, phone calls, and Facebook messages he has received from constituents in Central Washington who are struggling under President Obama's broken health care law.

Hastings also urged his colleagues in the House to support the "Keep Your Health Plan Act" (H.R. 3350), which Hastings is a cosponsor and the House of Representatives is scheduled to consider on Friday. This bill would allow insurance companies to continue to offer health care plans available on the individual market today, next year. Millions of Americans have been kicked off their current plans as Obamacare has been implemented over recent months, and this bill would give these individuals the choice to stay enrolled in plans they already have, like, and can afford without facing a penalty under the health care law.
