The key to a healthy economy is the creation of meaningful jobs. As a small business owner, I have employed hundreds of people over the years. I know what that paycheck means to them, and as the person signing that check, I know what it means to me. The best way for businesses to survive and thrive is to get government out of the way and allow men and women to operate free from the bonds of regulation and restriction. I say "yes" to a more vibrant economy where everyone can succeed if they try.
The new Republican majority in Alabama's House and Senate understands what economic growth means to our future. I pledge to work alongside of Speaker Mike Hubbard and my fellow Republicans in the House to foster a climate where Alabamians can keep their jobs and where new job opportunity has a chance to make our economy even stronger.
Saying "no" to new taxes is right up my alley. As a Montgomery County Commissioner, I stood my ground against the idea of raising taxes on working men and women, and I'll take that philosophy to the Statehouse.
I fully support Governor Bentley's aggressive recruitment of new businesses to the state. During my time on the County Commission, thousands of new jobs have come to the Capital City, and I'm very proud to have been a part of that.
