Issue Position

Fernando is a husband, father and homeowner who understands the fiscal challenges our families face -- and knows that state government can do more with less and pass programs that help protect property taxpayers.
As our Senator, he will fight for fiscal discipline by:
- Making the property tax caps permanent because the past few years
have shown they can and do work
- Fighting for our fair share of school funding from the state to reduce
the burden on middle class homeowners
- Leading the fight to reduce and control state debt to reduce the
burden we are leaving for our children
- Pushing for short-, mid- and long-range budget forecasts so that
the state can plan ahead the same way we do in our homes and businesses
