U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross (FL-15) submitted an amendment to H.J.Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014. His amendment would eliminate the Obamacare "fix" for Members of Congress, Congressional staff, the president, vice president, and political appointees.
"The only thing worse right now than having the implementation of Obamacare on October 1st, would be the implementation of this law with special consideration to Members of Congress," said Ross. "If Members won't vote to defund Obamacare and we have to do a CR that funds Obamacare, we must ensure that everyone is subjected to it -- including Members and their staff. We must do what is right, not only under the law, but in the eyes of our constituency. I urge my colleagues to support my amendment that would eliminate the Obamacare 'fix' for Congress."
