DeLauro Celebrates News Sikorsky Workers Will Stay On The Job

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today celebrating the news that United Technologies Corporation workers who had been facing furloughs will stay on the job. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made the decision to bring back civilian Defense Department workers "whose responsibilities contribute to the morale, well-being, capabilities and readiness of service members."

"I am very pleased the Pentagon was able to act to prevent massive and unnecessary furloughs at Sikorsky. Unfortunately, the Republican government shutdown is continuing to do harm across Connecticut from children being shut out of Head Start to small businesses lacking access to the federal loans they need. It is time for Republicans in the House to re-open the government."
