Owens Statement on Senate Passage of a Stopgap Spending Bill

This afternoon, the Senate passed a clean spending measure to keep the federal government open through November 15. Representative Owens made the following statement:

"Allowing the federal government to shut down is wholly irresponsible -- we cannot afford to damage the economy or halt critical services." Representative Bill Owens said. "I urge House leadership to allow an up or down vote on the Senate passed bill without delay."
